It was determined that the young man had been hanging around the area for hours before the attack. During that time, he secured payment from Nequi. How much was it?

The investigation into the attack against Senator Miguel Uribe Turbay, presidential candidate for the Democratic Center, continues to reveal key pieces that piece together the puzzle behind the attack that occurred last Saturday, June 7, in Modelia Park, Bogotá.

President Gustavo Petro, through his social media accounts, provided specific details that refute previously circulated rumors and open new avenues for the judicial process.

The president asserted that the 14-year-old boy accused of shooting the senator did not act on his own, nor did he act with the motivations initially reported. In fact, he denied a chat that some media outlets attributed to the teenager, stating that the message was actually linked to a Medellín gang planning a robbery that same day.

Petro indicated that the young man had been hanging around the park for approximately four hours, during which time he even held conversations with people in a van, which reinforces the hypothesis that he wasn’t alone or improvising . He arrived at the location on a motorcycle, which, along with the other evidence, points to a broader plan.

The president was clear in emphasizing that, contrary to what had been reported, the minor did have a cell phone in his possession and had even requested a specific deposit before the attack.

The Nequi transaction: a clue that does not go unnoticed

One of the most striking details is the alleged money transfer through Nequi. According to Petro’s statements, the young man allegedly received $3,500 pesos through this digital platform.

This transaction was reportedly made shortly before the attack, suggesting that the transaction could be directly related to his involvement in the attack.

The Prosecutor’s Office, for its part, has not issued an official statement detailing this payment, but the President himself mentioned it as part of the ongoing investigations. Although it is being investigated whether the minor handed over his cell phone just before the attack, authorities would already have access to the payment trail and the information of those who could be behind this operation.

The motorcycle, which was also among the items used by the young man that day, is reportedly under analysis. Authorities are trying to determine whether it was borrowed, rented, or provided by someone else. They are also seeking to determine whether this same motorcycle was used to travel to or from a meeting point with those possibly responsible for coordinating the attack.

Petro also mentioned that, during his capture, the minor was attacked by civilians, which led to his admission to an ICU. Despite his condition, he has been placed under strict protective measures, given that his testimony could be decisive in the investigation.

The case remains under constant review by the Prosecutor’s Office, while the country continues to await the recovery of Miguel Uribe, who remains hospitalized at the Santa Fe Foundation under intensive care following several hours of surgery.
