At just four or five months old, a little stray puppy struggled to survive in the fields, avoided by many because of her crooked legs.
Kind-hearted people offered her food, helping her get by until she was finally rescued by volunteers from the Sheremetyevo dog shelter.
Unsure of the extent of her condition, the volunteers rushed her to a veterinarian. Some doctors suggested amputating her legs and fitting her with a wheelchair, but her rescuers refused to give up so easily.
Determined to find another way, they consulted multiple specialists, holding onto hope that she could still walk on her own.
Despite her struggles, the puppy—named Kiss—was full of affection. She quickly embraced the warmth and love surrounding her, eagerly cuddling with her rescuers. It was likely the first time in her short life that she had experienced such kindness.
Her journey to healing began when she met a chiropractor. At first, she was frightened and tried to run away, but soon, she realized he was there to help. She patiently allowed the examination, and after careful evaluation, the good news arrived—her condition could improve with proper care and therapy.
Her foster mother was overwhelmed with hope. “I was so happy when I heard that she had a chance to recover. It would be a long road, but I believed we could win this fight.”
Following the doctor’s advice, Kiss began daily massages with special oils to improve blood circulation and strengthen her bones. For three weeks, she wore a custom-made plaster cast, slowly adjusting to the treatment. Although it was difficult at first, she adapted with patience and resilience.
“We kept giving her massages, vitamins, and endless love. It wasn’t easy—it took time, effort, and even tears—but every moment was worth it,” her foster mother recalled.
